Become a Volunteer
Convoy of Hope outreaches mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers every year. You can make a difference by serving in one of the following areas:
Command Center
Volunteers working in the Command Center team provide oversight during set-up and tear down of the event as well as provide maintenance needs throughout the outreach.
Community Services
The Community Services area volunteers host local agencies and organizations that offer helpful services and resources to the working poor. These organizations and agencies include city, state, federal social and welfare agencies, learning clubs, child finger printing and job fair.
Family Portraits
We provide a free portrait to families in attendance at the outreach. Local photographers and photography enthusiasts can serve in this area. Please use the "Contact Us" button above to connect with us before the event.
Food Services
Volunteers in the Food Services area prepare and serve food and beverages. They also serve our "guests of honor" as hosts in the guest eating areas.
Grocery Distribution
The grocery distribution area mobilizes more than a hundred volunteers unpacking pallets, bagging groceries, stocking distribution tables, distributing groceries to guests, collecting food coupon cards and helping guests needing assistance with carrying groceries to their cars.
Guest Services
The Guest Services area team host guests in the Welcome Area, distribute food coupons, count guests entering the site and provide general assistance to guests as needed.
Haircuts
Free haircuts, manicures and other beauty services are provided free of charge. Local barbers, hairstylists and beauticians who volunteer in this area must be state-licensed or enrolled in a professional training program. Please use the "Contact Us" button above to connect with us before the event.
Health Services
During the outreach we will provide free medical and dental screenings to as many of our guests as possible. Doctors, dentists, laboratory technicians, dental hygienists and nurse practitioners can serve in this area. Please use the "Contact Us" button above to connect with us before the event.
Kids Zone
Volunteers in the Kids Zone supervise and host the games and activities such as: inflatable games, pony rides, carnival games and a special program just for kids. Volunteers help with child registration, face painting, concessions, entrance and exit security, game/activity workers and lost and found recovery area.
Prayer Tent
In the Prayer Tent, volunteers from local churches pray with guests as felt needs are expressed. Volunteers serving in the Prayer Tent are pre-recruited and trained prior to the event.
Safety
Safety workers are responsible for warmly assisting guest and volunteers, answering questions, providing helpful direction, maintaining site perimeters and controlled access gates, providing traffic control and parking directives. Must be 18 yrs of age or older to volunteer on the Safety Team.
Translators
Bilingual volunteers help us assist Spanish-speaking guests during the outreach.
